Seneca Lake Wine Trail
Seneca Lake, NY – On Monday, October 7, the Seneca Lake Wine Trail hosted an event to kick off and celebrate Come Over October. The event was hosted at Stony Lonesome at Three Brothers Wineries and Estates.
Come Over October is a national push to encourage friends and families to “come over” during the month of October, to share wine, celebrate friendship, and build in-person connection.
The Seneca Lake Wine Trail invited industry colleagues, partner organizations, and government officials to come together under the banner of “Come Over October” to spotlight the success of the region through collaboration and community.
Speakers at the event included Jim Trezise, President of WineAmerica, Sam Filler, Executive Director of the New York Wine and Grape Foundation, Scott Osborn, Co-Owner of Fox Run Vineyards, and Brittany Gibson, Executive Director of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail.
Gibson shared, “The Seneca Lake Wine Trail’s recent economic impact study revealed that the Wine Trail’s 28 member wineries have an economic impact of $553 million, including $82.97 million in total taxes, 2724 jobs, and $55.5 million in tourist expenditures. Wine brings people together, and not just in the social sense. Through collaboration among the member wineries as well as with organizations including WineAmerica and the NY Wine and Grape Foundation, the Seneca Lake Wine Trail has evolved into a powerful driver of the local and state economy. The saying is that ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’ The 28 member wineries of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail have gone far – together – over their 30+ year history.”
Fillers adds, “Come Over October is a celebration of wine’s special place in creating connection between families and friend to share meaningful movements together. New York Wines provide accessible, food friendly, and low alcohol wines to compliment any occasion where family and friends gather.”
Trezise concluded, “This event showed once again that the Seneca Lake Wine Trail is a national leader in creativity and collaboration, reflecting the credo that ‘Diversity is our Strength, Unity is our Power.’ As President of WineAmerica, I am truly grateful that we have three great Seneca Lake people on our Board of Directors, with Scott Osborn the current Chair, joined by Erica Paolicelli as a Director and Brittany Gibson as a member of our State and Regional Associations Advisory Council.”
